How Was Your Day

I was at my daughter’s home yesterday.
My grandsons were not feeling so well.
I smiled, however, when their daddy came home from work and the oldest son asked of his daddy…”How was your day daddy?”
It made his daddy smile too.

How many times have we asked that very question to someone we know?

I clearly, well maybe not so clearly remember my children and their teen years. “How was your day?” I would ask.

“Fine”, was the usual response.

“Did anything fun happen?” I would ask.

“Nope”, would come the response.

Frustrating. Frustrating. Frustrating.

Nobody likes a one-sided conversation.

Neither does the Lord.

Fellowship with Him. Talk to Him in Prayer. Tell Him your hopes and your dreams and then pause to listen. Tell Him your hurts and disappointments and let Him guide you through His Word. Tell Him your “I’m sorry’s” and your “I’m so exciteds”. Hide nothing from Him. He desires to be known by you and He desires to be part of your everthing.
Psalm 38:9

“All my longings lie open before you, Lord: my sighing is not hidden from you.”
