We were playing ball in the toy room, when
the ball rolled out of the toy room and into the dining room.
The dining room was a whole 5 feet away from where we were playing.
It was broad daylight, not nighttime, not evening, or even dusk.
The ball sat there, right beside the wall.
It wasn’t under the table.
It wasn’t under a chair.
It wasn’t “behind” something.
It was in clear view of where we were standing and had previously been playing.
“Scared”…pronounced by my grandson as “scaret”.
He tells me he is too “scaret” to walk the 5 feet and get the ball, but he also tells me that his big brother is “brave”.
In “big brother” fashion, his “big brother” retrieved the ball for us.
I’m sure there are times that we stress and are afraid (“scaret”) and God in heaven is looking down and thinking…
Just take one step.
Take one step after another.
He can see clearly.
His vision is not clouded and in Him there is only light and no darkness.
We, however, are often frozen in fear.
We can’t move. All we can see are the obstacles.
We too have a “big brother” who is brave.
So brave, in fact, that He came to earth as a baby,
experienced tremendous temptation and yet never sinned. He subjected Himself to punishment and death.
He took one step at a time.
He followed His Father’s voice.
He retrieved for us Life.
Life in Him
Now and ForeverJesus, the Son of God, becomes our “brother” when we are adopted into God’s family as believers.
May we live victoriously in Him today.
May we be “brave” enough
“For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.”
“Now if we are children, then we are heirs – heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in His sufferings in order that we may also share in His glory.”
