Big Leaps, Big God

design-52

I feel like a little girl today

Staring up at the high diving board

And contemplating whether or not

I should climb it’s tall ladder

and

jump!

As a little girl, I took swim class at the local high school.

I’m pretty sure two of my younger sisters

Took the plunge before I gathered up enough courage!

I don’t think I’m the only little child

who

Looked at something

And

Dreamed BIG (think acrobatic somersaulting with

Straight entry dive)

But when given the actual opportunity

Decided to

Shrink back from the so-called “dream”.

I still dream BIG.

I pray BIG.

I think BIG.

If given a task, I give it my all and go at it in a BIG way.

But today,

God opened a door of opportunity

That is staring me in the face

Like the high diving board!

God is So Big.

He thinks so Big.

His plans are more than I could ever dream up.

He includes people of all nations.

I am a child Lord.

A little, little child.

Are you sure you want to give me this opportunity?

Do I dare climb the ladder?

Do I jump?

Will I land safely?

I don’t know where you find yourself today

Or what season of life you find yourself in.

I encourage you to do

As I am doing…

Sit at His Feet

Seek Him

Listen

Let Him lead.

Let Him guide.

If He leads you to it …

He will get you through it.

( or so the saying goes)

Psalm 23 speaks to me today.

He is the shepherd who leads.

In following His leading, I will be at peace

And even refreshed.

He desires to glorify Himself

And yet use us to do that.

He is completely capable of landing me (and you) safe!

Don’t give up on the BIG…

He is a BIG God!

Psalm 23

“The Lord is my shepherd,

I lack nothing.

He makes me lie down in green pastures,

He leads me beside quiet waters,

He refreshes my soul.

He guides me along the right paths

For His Name’s sake.

Even though I walk

Through the darkest valley,

I will fear no evil,

For you are with me;

Your rod and your staff,

They comfort me.

You prepare a table before me

In the presence of my enemies.

You anoint my head with oil;

My cup overflows.

Surely goodness and love

Will follow me

All the days of my life,

And I will dwell in the house of the Lord

Forever.
